Brooklands, Garswood has been open for ten years. It is a large friendly setting located in the rural area of Garswood which is situated between St Helens and Wigan with good links to Liverpool and Manchester via the A580 and M6.
The nursery has four spacious rooms which have excellent facilities and resources. It also has two large soft-surface outdoor play areas which the children enjoy using throughout the year. Brooklands, Garswood caters for the following age groups:
- Baby room – 0-12 months
- Tiddler room – 1-2 years
- Toddler room – 2-3 years
- Pre-school – 3-5 years
There is also a holiday club for children aged 5-10 which operates in the school holidays. The group is given the opportunity to be involved in activities such as art, music, dance and sport and have outings to the cinema, bowling, farmyards and theme parks.
All rooms are managed by a senior member of staff and include a team of junior staff who are qualified with NNEB/ NVQ or equivalent. The nursery operates a key Worker system where each child is allocated a member of staff who is responsible for monitoring and recording their progress and development in each room.
There is a qualified cook on-site who provides excellent fresh meals each day which are healthy and nutritious. She is able to cater for any special dietary requirements that your child may have.
Alongside the Foundation Stage curriculum and Birth to three matters framework, the nursery offers a number of extra curricular activities such as swimming sessions, French tuition and music lessons.
The staff at the nursery provide an excellent standard of early years care for children aged 0-5. This was recognised by Ofsted in a recent inspection when the nursery gained the highest grading award.
